A Summer Art Quest 2010
Childrens Summer Art Camp
July 19th - 23rd, 2010
Students ages 7-11
July 26th - 30th, 2010
Students ages 12-17
Students will develop skills, techniques, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and conceptual concerns through the use of a wide range of materials and resources. We will focus on drawing, writing, painting, printmaking, and film (video arts). An exploration of arts will be lead by our highly qualified faculty.
We would like to welcome Water Street Glassworks in partnering with us, as the creators of our sculpture portion of the camp. Our students will work at the Glassworks for a session each day, creating mosaic planters, sandblasted pieces as well as fused dishes.
A broad perspective on art history and heritage are woven together and includes frequent gallery and art studio visits and the rare opportunity of being exposed to an entire arts community within the Benton Harbor Arts District.
Cooperation, collaboration, accountability, discipline, and focus are all considered important parts of this arts program. Our goal is to help students create a meaningul and artful summer.
